Communicating
- Plan
- Communicate
- Organize
You’ve known it all along. It’s not just what you say… it’s how you say it and whom you say it to that collectively impacts your communication.
Doesn’t anyone around here listen?
Talking and communicating are not the same thing. Talking is a one-way street; communicating is a two-way exchange of ideas where each person increases their understanding. As a process it begins with deciding what it is that needs to be communicated.
But the “what” of communication isn’t the hard part. The biggest challenges are the internal and external barriers that lead to a breakdown in communication. Or, rather, a failure to understand what these barriers are and how to navigate around them.
Issues of diversity, body language, respect, power differentials, and emotion all can negatively impact the communication process.
During our engagements, we demonstrate highly-tuned communications skills so our clients will become attuned to the many variables that are in play, and how to neutralize them, as they work to improve the quality of their communications with others.
Clients will be introduced to specific techniques and skills for both preparing and sending messages, as well as how to evaluate the quality of communication that has taken place.
