Leveraging Leadership

What can the actor Gregory Peck teach you about leadership? Plenty! In this seminar, we’ll put you in Peck’s shoes as we deconstruct the 1949 film classic, “12 O’Clock High,” to illustrate a variety of leadership concepts.

The Leveraging Leadership workshop will help you develop new tools you can use to further enhance your own leadership skills. So, ask yourself:

  • Is everything running smoothly?
  • Does the team feel like a cohesive whole?
  • How’s morale?
  • Are you hitting your goals?

In this half-day workshop, we deconstruct the 1949 film classic, “12 O’Clock High,” and use it to illustrate a variety of leadership concepts.

Specifically, we’ll analyze the 918th Bomber Group and four individuals, including Gregory Peck’s character, General Frank Savage, and draw parallels to your own real-world environment.

Using the film as a springboard, we’ll discuss a full range of topics relevant to leadership, including:

  • Leadership styles
  • Typical challenges
  • Corrective action techniques, pros and cons
  • Building morale
  • The difference between accountability and confrontation
  • The importance of discipline and structure
  • The power of teamwork

You will be asked to make direct comparisons between on-screen situations and your own, present day challenges. And you’ll develop strategies to address some of those challenges and commit to implementing them with your team.
